Born on February 28,1950 in Dhaka.  He became popular  specially among the  younger  generation in 1970s. The music history of  Bangladesh  will never be  completed  without  mentioning  his  contribution.ng  his  contribution.  He was the pioneer  in Bengali pop music  launching and founded  a band  called “Uchcharon” with a literal  meaning of  “enunciation ”  in the early  1970s. He is honoured as “Guru”  of Rock and Pop  music in Bangladesh.   Azam khan was introduced  to music through his mother ,Zobaida Begum .  His father   Mohammad  Aftabuddin   Khan  was  a  government  officer.

Azam  khan  was a renowed  freedom  fighter  who  faught  against  the  Pakistani  army  in the  Liberation  War of  Bangladesh  in 1971. He fought  in sector  2  under  late Brigadier  Khaled  Mosharraf .  He inspired  fellow  Freedom  Fighters  with  his  voice  and  music.

After  the  liberation  war, in a  new  Bangladesh, he  again  turned  his mind  to music.  His  first  stage performance   was  at a  programme  of the  Notre Dame  College  in 1972. His first  concert in television was  broadcasted  in BTV at the same  year.  Most  of  his  realesed  song  became  instead  hit  and  anthems  of a new  generation. Azam  Khan, along  with Fakir Alamgir, Ferdous  Wahid, Feeroz  Shai , Nazma  Zaman  and  Pilu Momtaz  were sowing the seeds  of  a new  genre  of Bangla  Rock. His popular  songs  including “Ore Saleka,Ore Maleka”,”Jibone Kichu Pabona Re”,”Ami  jare  chaire’’.”Ashi  Ashi Bole Tumi”,”Obhimani”,”Rail liner oi Bostite”,’’Alal  O Dulal”,’’High  Court-er  Mazare” and  many more  that  spoke  of the  youth.  This  legendary  singer  died  on 5th june  2011 at Dhaka  CMH  hospital. He was suffering  from  oral  cancer  which had  spreed  to his lungs.

‘Manna Dey’ is his nick name, birth name is Probodh Chondro Dey. His father Purno Chondro Dey and mother Mahamaya dey.His earliest education was received from the Indu Babur Pathshala. Thereafter he attended  Scottish Charch Collegiate School and then to the Scottish Charch College and received his gradution from the Viddyasagar college.

Since childhood,Manna dey had a variety of interest in music. He originally received his musical training under his uncle,the late Krishna Chandra Dey and then later under Ustad Dabir khan. During college life, he stood first for three consecutive years in the differert groups of inter college singing competitions.

In 1942,he started working as an assistant music director under his uncle Krisna Chandra Dey and then under Sachin Dev Burman. Then he started working independently and continued to take musical lessons in ‘Hindustani classical music’ from ustad Aman Ali Khan and Ustad Abdul Rahman Khan. Dey started his career as a playback singer with the movie ‘Tamanna’ in year of 1943. His uncle Krisna Chandra composed the musical score and he paired-up with the well-known singer Suraiya to sing this duet. The song was instant hit. He sang a solo track n amed “Upor Gagan Vishal’’ in the 1950movie, Mashal, wich was another hit. In 1952, Dey sang for the movie “Amar Bhupali’’which was being produced in two languages. By this time he had established his name as one of the top playback singer.
Along  with Mohammad Rafi, Kishore kumar, Mukesh he was a part of Indian film playback music industry. There was no other singer as versatile as Manna Dey.
Dey  sang 58 duets like “Isq Isq’’(Barsat ki raat), “Tu hai mera prem devta’’(Kalpana), “Mama o Mama’’(Parvarish). With Lata Mungeshkar, Manna recorded 113 duets including “Yeh raat bhigi bhigi’’, “Payer hua iqrar hua’’ “Aja sanam mudhur chandi mein hum’’ “Ke prothom kache eseche’’.  With Asha Bhosle, he recorded more than 100 duets including  “Re mam sur me ga’’, “Tu chupi hai kahan”, “Zindegi hai  khel’’. With Kishore Kumar he sang a completely different  songs like “Yeh dosti’’(Sholey) and “Ek chatur naar”(Padosan). He also sang with singer as well as composer  Hemonto Mukherjee. In his career spanning  more than 4 decades, he recorded more than 3000 songs.

Manna Dey has bestowed upon  many awards. In 1971 he was awarded the “Padma Shree”; in 2003, “Alauddin Khan Award’’ by the government of Bengal; in 2005,the”Padmabhushan’’; in 2007 “ Dada Shaheb Phalke Award’’by the government of India; in 2011, he was presented  the “Filmfare Life Time Achievement Award’’.

Abdul Jabbar is a very popular and famous Bangladeshi singer. He has great contributions to Bangladesh liberation war in 1971. Jabbar participated on a solo TV show at RTV. Shah Abdul Karim was a verry popular legends of Bangladesh music industry. He was the oldest talent in Bengali Baul music or folk music.He also known as ‘Baul Somrat’ He born on 15th February 1916 and died on 12th september 2009. He brought up in the village of Ujan Dhol, in Derai Upazila(Thana) of Sunamganj, Sylet, Bangladesh. He lived there until his death. He started singing with expression and emotion from childhood. Ektara, a traditional single string instrument has been his constant companion. His songs had spell-binding effects, not to mention his melodic, soothing and pleasingly rustic voice. However, poverty forced him to get into agricultural labour.

But nothing could stop him from making good music. As he was growing up, he received training on spiritual and baul music from Kamal Uddin, Shadhak Rashid Uddin, Shah Ibrahim Mastan Baksh. Bangla Academy has translated ten of his songs into English language. He received Drouhee Kotha-shahitayk Abdur Rouf Choudhury Award in 2000.He was also awarded the Ekushey Padak, one of the highest civilian honours in Bangladesh, in 2001.
